Four crew members of Filipino nationality were arrested and charged with storage of child pornography aboard the Carnival Pride, while the ship was docked at its home port, the Port of Baltimore, Maryland.
According to a report from Marino PH, an organization that safeguards the situation of sailors of that nationality around the world, one of the deportees, who worked as a kitchen waiter, stated that, early on, US authorities entered his cabin, searched it and ordered him to pack his belongings, handcuffed him, searched him and took him off the ship along with three other compatriots.
The affected person stated that they were interrogated for several hours, accused of participating in child pornography. After the eviction, the crew was taken under surveillance to the airport, where they were boarded to Manila via Doha.
Carnival Pride makes trips to the Caribbean or within the US coasts.
