Recently, a cargo ship fully loaded with copper concentrate slowly docked at the Tongjiang water transport port. Under the full supervision of customs officers, it completed the clearance procedures, marking the successful launch of the first copper concentrate import business at the Tongjiang water transport port. This adds a substantial ‘industrial hue’ to this ‘golden waterway’ connecting China and Russia.

To ensure the smooth clearance of the first batch of copper concentrate, Tongjiang Customs provided proactive services, intervening early since the enterprise showed interest. They offered ‘one-to-one’ precise explanations on import policies, regulatory standards, and the entire clearance process, enabling the enterprise to ‘have a clear understanding and a clear path for declaration’. At the operational site, various departments coordinated efforts, making full use of the Tongjiang Customs Chemical and Mineral Laboratory to conduct ‘on-site inspection upon arrival’. This ensured ‘zero delay’ in supervision, ‘zero distance’ in service, and ‘zero risk’ in safety, achieving seamless connection and extreme compression of all links from cargo arrival, declaration, inspection, to release, thereby minimizing the enterprise’s comprehensive costs to the greatest extent.

Moving forward, Tongjiang Customs will continue to optimize the port business environment, enhance the level of cross-border trade facilitation, promote ‘direct pickup at shipside’ and ‘direct loading upon arrival’ for more categories of goods, and facilitate the arrival of more ‘first order’ and ‘first ship’ cargoes at the port. The aim is to strive to build the Tongjiang water transport port into a ‘preferred channel’ for cross-border logistics between China and Russia.
