The total transportation capacity of existing registered seagoing vessels at Yangpu Port in south China’s Hainan Province has historically exceeded 10 million deadweight tons (dwt) on Monday.
A newly built bulk cargoshipnamed “Jiahangda” of the Hainan Jiahua Logistics Co., Ltd. was successfully delivered and registered at the Yangpu Port on Monday. So far, the total transportation capacity of Yangpu’s existing registered seagoing vessels has reached 10.035 million dwt.
In recent years, various departments in Hainan has focused on optimizing the business environment to improve the overall efficiency and service level ofshipregistration.
“In less than two years, the scale ofshipregistration has changed from less than one million dwt to the current 10 million dwt, achieving a historic breakthrough. Next, we will promote the further upgrading and opening of the system of port of registry, explore the policy dividends of free trade port, attract the continuous accumulation of elements ofshipping, and help the construction of theshipping hub port and free trade port,” said Zhang Hailiang, director of YangpuShipping Industry Project Office.
Since June 1, 2020, theshipping industry has witnessed a rapid growth of market entities. The three giants, COSCOShipping Corporation, China Merchants Group and ShandongShipping Corporation have settled down one after another, and numerous private enterprises have flocked to the region.
In addition, there are more than 400 newshipping companies, and the newshiptransportation capability has reached 9,191,500 dwt, accounting for 91.6 percent of the total transportation capability of Yangpu’s existingships.
Meanwhile, seven “China’s Yangpu Port”ships could enjoy tax reimbursement for export, and more than 30 foreignships could enjoy zero-tariff treatment.
“On the same day, we completed relevant documents such as ship ownership certificates, international and bareboat charter and minimum safe manning certificates for the enterprises to ensure that they can register normally and handle the business even under the situation of the epidemic,” said Mi Chunlei, deputy director of the Affairs Office at the Yangpu Maritime Safety Administration.
