According to multiple sources, two bodies were recovered from waters beneath the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, after it collapsed.
BBC reported that eight construction workers were atop the bridge when the Dali containership slammed into it in the early hours of 26 March.
The men have reportedly been identified as Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, 35, of Baltimore, and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, 26, of Dundalk.
The Independent revealed that Fuentes was from Mexico, while Cabrera is from Guatemala.
According to the BBC, two other missing victims presumed to be dead have been named: Miguel Luna, originally from El Salvador, and Maynor Suazo Sandoval, a Honduran citizen.
The Independent noted that other victims have not been identified, but Guatemala’s foreign ministry announced that two Guatemalan nationals are among those missing following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
When discussing the hunt for the remaining victims, Maryland Governor, Wes Moore, addressed reporters on 27 March: “My promise to them (the victims’ families) is this: I will devote every single resource to ensuring that you receive closure.”
