Green light from the EIA Commission for the project of the new site for the placement of excavation sediments, located in the lagoon area south of the Isola delle Tresse, along the Malamocco-Marghera canal.
In a 260-page document, the Commission expressed a favorable opinion, stipulating a long series of additions and prescriptions.
The contract has a total value of 82 million euros and involves the creation of a new 46-hectare area for the disposal of 3.8 million cubic meters of contaminated sediments that cannot be reused elsewhere.
The President of the Northern Adriatic Sea Port System Authority and Special Commissioner, Matteo Gasparato, declared himself satisfied, in whose eyes the Commission’s approval represents a recognition of the project’s technical solidity.
