Viking Supply Ships has confirmed that its chief executive, Trond Myklebust, has decided to resign from his position
Gothenburg, Sweden-based Viking Supply Ships is a leading provider of offshore anchor-handling and ice-breaking services and operates a fleet of high-end ice classed AHTS vessels.
The company said Mr Myklebust, who was appointed to his role in 2017, will remain in his position until 1 August 2026 and the process of identifying a successor has been initiated.
During Mr Myklebust’s tenure, Viking Supply Ships has expanded its fleet, including the recent acquisition of the AHTS vessel Maersk Maker, now renamed Tor Viking. In 2025, the company acquired Atlantic Kestrel, renamed Ben Viking.
The company’s chairman, Bengt Rem, thanked Mr Myklebust for his contributions to the company over the last decade and wished him all the best in his future endeavours.
Mr Myklebust was previously chief executive of Bourbon Norway, Kongsberg Evotec and Fjord Shipping.
