Rimorchiatori Sardi, a company recently become part of the Medtug group (Msc – Boluda), is preparing to decommission the tugboat named after Vincenzo Onorato, the patron of the Moby Group which until a few months ago controlled the company holding the concession for the ship towing service in the ports of Sardinia.
The vessel in question is reported to have already changed its name to Tiger Tug as well as its flag (St Kitts & Nevis.) and, according to what has been learned by SHIPPING ITALY, would be in the process of being sold, thus initiating a fleet renewal program.
The Vincenzo Onorato, currently stationed in Porto Torres, was built and delivered in 1976 by the then Cantieri Navali Giorgetti of Viareggio; equipped with two Man engines each with 1,622 Kw of power, it has a length of 35 meters and a width of almost 10 meters.
