At 08:58 on October 13th, the CHB2044, the 8th 10300TEU dual-fuel LNG-powered container ship built by Changhong International for Mediterranean Shipping Company, was successfully ignited and started construction in the smart workshop. This marks the ship’s entry into the block construction phase. The shipowner’s site office, Bureau Veritas, and the Changhong International project team jointly witnessed this important moment.

This project, totaling 10 ships, was jointly developed and designed by CIMC Offshore Engineering Research Institute (CIMC ORIC) and Changhong International. It is a new generation of advanced and environmentally friendly 10,000-TEU class container ship. The ship has an overall length of about 300 meters, a molded breadth of 45.6 meters, and a design speed of 20 knots. The ship that commenced construction this time is classed by Bureau Veritas. Its advanced LNG dual-fuel power system can significantly reduce the emissions of sulfur oxides (SOx), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and carbon dioxide (CO₂), directly addressing the emission reduction targets of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and providing strong technical support for the green transformation of the global shipping industry.

The successive commencement of construction for multiple 10,000-TEU class container ship types demonstrates Changhong International’s extremely high construction efficiency and excellent project execution capability.
