On July 7th, the second 114,000-ton Aframax product tanker “KASTOS” (H1402), built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for Greece’s Oceangold, was officially delivered upon signing, marking steady progress in the company’s efforts to comprehensively, efficiently, and high-quality complete its 2025 production targets. Representatives from Greece’s Oceangold, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd., and the company attended and witnessed the delivery signing ceremony.

The “KASTOS” is the latest generation of Aframax tanker independently developed and designed by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding. The vessel features notable advantages in green technology, environmental protection, energy efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Its verified EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) meets the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Phase III requirements for 2025 ahead of schedule. Additionally, its nitrogen oxide emissions comply with Tier III standards, while sulfur oxide emissions meet regulatory requirements, making it highly favored by clients.

Classified by Lloyd’s Register, the “KASTOS” was independently detailed-designed by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. The vessel has an overall length of 249.95 meters, a beam of 44.0 meters, a depth of 21.2 meters, and a design draft of 13.6 meters, with a design speed of 14.4 knots. It is powered by a MAN B&W 6G60ME-C10.5 engine, compliant with Tier III standards.
