For the second consecutive year, Wallenius Wilhelmsen received the gold medal from EcoVadis, the ESG rating entity.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s largest providers of business sustainability ratings for global supply chains.
The entity uses a questionnaire to evaluate management systems and provides easy-to-use, practical sustainability dashboards with detailed information on environmental, social, and ethical risks in over 220 purchasing categories and 180 countries.
“Our rating is an important validation of our management systems and shows our customers that we manage risks well,” stated Anette Rønnov, Chief Sustainability Officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
“While we began our journey with EcoVadis at the request of customers and investors, we have found that participating in EcoVadis also helps us measure our integration of sustainability principles into our policies and management systems,” noted Rønnov.
According to the company, the EcoVadis Gold rating provides confidence that it manages environmental, ethical, and regulatory risks responsibly. Since EcoVadis assesses the maturity of management systems and not just annual performance, the validation for two consecutive years demonstrates compliance with high standards in key areas for supply chain resilience.
