Yesterday morning, the Port Authority of Itea was notified of a controlled water ingress into a passenger-car ferry (Ro-Ro) of Greek flag, which was docked at the Itea marina.
Immediately, a staff member of the H.C.G. (Hellenic Coast Guard) went to the scene, as well as a unit of the Fire Service which performed water pumping.No injuries were reported from the incident and no marine pollution was observed. The departure of the Ro-Ro was prohibited by the Itea Port Authority, and it was lifted out of the water by the owner’s care.
