As announced by the publishing company Hellenic Maritime Publications EPE, Anastasia Amalia Fasoula-Skolarikou, partner and for many years co-manager of the company, which was founded in 1957 by her parents, Georgios and Angeliki Skolarikou, has passed away.
The deceased was born on September 27, 1945, and studied in London, broadening her intellectual horizons, before devoting herself fully to her professional and family life.
With an effusive personality and a strong presence, Anastasia Amalia Fasoula-Skolarikou, whom everyone affectionately called “Boubou,” served the company with vision and dedication, establishing and implementing practices ahead of their time. She introduced a socially sensitive employment policy, giving opportunities to people with different abilities — at a time when such initiatives were rare. As an employer, she stood by every need of the staff, earning their love and respect.
A leading personality, she was known for her wise and stabilizing presence, guided the company through significant challenges and transformations, earning the respect of her employees, clients, and collaborators. She was distinguished for her honesty and professionalism, values that also reflected the overall course of Hellenic Maritime Publications, a company that remains to this day a unique and recognized name in the maritime sector.
Her interest in the maritime community and its development was continuous and sincere. Throughout her career, she left an indelible mark not only on the company but also on the wider field of maritime publications.
Her loss leaves a deep void in her family, colleagues, clients, and the entire maritime industry.
