Weilbach completes OceanPass acquisition

Maritime navigation software company Weilbach has announced the acquisition of a 51% stake in start-up OceanPass, with plans to integrate the OceanPass emissions reporting system into Weilbach’s OneLog digital logbook offering.

The combined reporting system will deliver an overview of relevant indexes such as CII, EEXI, EEOI and others, with all data centralised within OneLog to create a single source of information related to vessel emissions.

“This is a large step for Weilbach to become a leading provider for emissions reporting,” said Martin Mikkelsen, Director of Business Development at Weilbach and new CEO of OceanPass.

“Together with the unique service OceanPass have, and our Wendis OneLog, we can offer a larger range of services in one platform.”

A minority stake in OceanPass will be retained by former owner Copenhagen Commercial Platform (CCP), a provider of services to connect dry bulk owners and charterers with a focus on vessels’ environmental metrics. The firm launched in 2021 with investment from BW Group and Weco Shipping.

“We are very pleased to welcome Weilbach as a majority partner, Weilbach have an impressive history and are now leading in digital maritime solutions,” said Christian Bonfils CEO at Copenhagen Commercial Platform.

“They are the right partner for us and the ambitions we have to make OceanPass a leading standard for emission reporting.”
