From June 23 to June 29, production at Wenchong Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Guangzhou Shipyard International, was in full swing. Within just seven days, five ships were delivered consecutively. Among them, the LPG carrier MV Lucky and the chemical tanker MV Florensen were first-time collaboration projects with new clients, with nearly half of the ships being first-time repairs.

**First-Order Breakthrough: MV Lucky Sets Sail Renewed**
On June 23, Wenchong Shipyard completed the special survey and CAP inspection of the 25-year-old LPG carrier MV Lucky and delivered it successfully. As the first project with a new client, the ship posed significant challenges due to aging equipment and spare parts shortages. The project team adopted an innovative approach of “simultaneous inspection and construction, supplementing and repairing in parallel,” collaborating with multiple parties to complete 37 water tank inspections, nearly 500 piecemeal replacements, major overhauls of the main and auxiliary engines, pressure testing of liquid cargo pipelines, disassembly inspections of cargo pumps, and repairs to cargo air compressors.

**Precision Management: MV Cougar Completes Second Special Survey**
On June 24, Wenchong Shipyard efficiently completed the second special survey of the bulk carrier MV Cougar and delivered it. Key tasks included waterproof coating in cargo holds and repairs to the hatch cover hydraulic system. To alleviate labor shortages, Wenchong Shipyard brought in additional personnel and dynamically allocated resources. Through meticulous management—”tiered planning + daily reviews + progress alerts”—the team ensured seamless workflow transitions. In the final stages, they proactively took on some of the crew’s repair tasks, achieving complementary advantages and earning high praise from the shipowner.

**”Home Port” Support: MV Huaxianglong Completes First Special Survey**
On June 28, the jack-up emergency rescue and salvage vessel MV Huaxianglong set sail after completing its first special survey and minor modifications at Wenchong Shipyard.

As the vessel’s “home port,” Wenchong Shipyard had previously completed a major upgrade for MV Huaxianglong in May 2023, setting an industry record for the first-ever surface hoisting of old and new leg sections during a full leg replacement. This time, the project team efficiently completed tasks such as an 800-ton main crane load test and a 350-ton auxiliary crane modification within 17 days. They precisely timed docking and undocking operations with tidal windows and customized 105 steel blocks for the vessel’s unique spudcan structure to ensure stability. The shipowner’s technical manager praised, “MV Huaxianglong can only be entrusted to Wenchong Shipyard—no one is more reliable than the ‘home team’!”

The upgrade also included refurbishing the helicopter platform, preparing the vessel for international operations in the second half of the year.

**Hull Damage Repair: MV Dahong 19 Delivered On Time After 15-Year Special Survey**
On June 29, Wenchong Shipyard completed the 15-year special survey of the bulk carrier MV Dahong 19, which set sail in renewed condition after comprehensive upgrades, including structural repairs to compartments, oil tank modifications, and hull damage repairs.

Since docking on June 7, the project team meticulously aligned with the shipowner’s needs, preparing in advance for critical hull damage repairs and optimizing construction techniques to complete all preparations before dry-docking. During dry-docking, the team’s expertise allowed them to finish the work a day ahead of schedule, saving time for subsequent tasks. After undocking, a detailed closing plan ensured clear division of labor and milestones, coordinating multiple trades for efficient collaboration and on-time delivery.

**First Success: MV Florensen Delivered On Time After Special Survey**
On June 29, Wenchong Shipyard successfully completed the fifth five-year special survey of the chemical tanker MV Florensen and delivered it.

The project included tasks such as main engine cylinder overhauls, auxiliary engine repairs, deck equipment maintenance, ballast tank structural renewals, pipeline repairs, and full hull repainting. Despite challenges like extreme weather during the project, Wenchong Shipyard’s production management department formed a dedicated task force. By scientifically allocating resources and dynamically optimizing workflows, they ensured efficient cross-departmental collaboration, completing the project on schedule while adhering to strict repair standards. This success earned the shipowner’s trust and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
