West P&I CUO Simon Parrott to retire in summer

Must read

After 40 years of service at the Club, Simon Parrott will step down from his position of Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) at West of England Club in the summer of 2025. West said that Parrott had been an invaluable part of the Club.

The purpose of this long notice period is to allow the Club to find a suitable successor and to enable a seamless handover of Simon’s responsibilities. He will continue in his existing CUO role as well as actively supporting the management in the transition period between now and when he formally retires. He will remain a Director of the Club.

Parrott said that “I have been very privileged to work at the Club for 40 years, all that time in the Underwriting Department, but latterly as CUO. West has been transformed under the current management with the new strategy putting us in a strong position for the future, and I have been delighted to be a part of this transition. Our focus has always been to provide the highest levels of service to the Membership and their brokers, and this will of course continue, with a seamless handover to my successor next year.”

West CEO Tom Bowsher said that “having worked with Simon for over 20 years, I would like to thank him for his loyal and longstanding service to the Club. I am delighted that we have the time to properly manage the succession process to ensure we maintain the high level of service expected by the Membership. We are excited about the positive progress the Club has made in recent years, something Simon has been an integral part of, and we look forward to building on this success in the future”.
