Recently, the TYPE3 Pro Platform Hull No. 2, independently designed and built by Wuhan Marine Machinery Plant, successfully completed a key construction milestone—the jacking test—at the Qingdao Haixi Heavy Machinery Wharf, laying a solid foundation for the project’s smooth delivery.

This platform is classed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Its equipped jacking system is an electric rack and pinion type, enabling the lifting and lowering of both the platform and its legs. The platform features a rectangular structure with cylindrical legs distributed at its four corners. The jacking test, a critical step to verify the reliability, synchronization, and safety performance of the platform’s leg operations, was conducted strictly in accordance with design requirements and operational procedures. All parameters met the design standards, and the platform successfully reached the top position in less than two hours.

The completion of this jacking test marks the platform’s transition into the delivery phase and validates Wuhan Marine Machinery Plant’s strong technical capabilities and system integration expertise in the design and construction of self-elevating offshore support platforms. Wuhan Marine Machinery Plant will continue to advance platform design and construction with high standards and strict requirements, striving to create high-quality and superior engineering equipment, and contributing to leading the progress and development of specialized segments within the marine engineering industry.
