Keelung – Taiwanese shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport has placed an order for seven new 15,500 TEU container ships with South Korean shipyard Hanwha Ocean, continuing its fleet renewal program with a focus on dual-fuel technology. The order, with a total value between $1.36 and $1.53 billion, includes delivery of the vessels between 2028 and 2029. The new ships will feature LNG dual-fuel propulsion, aligning with the owner’s environmental goals.
