Yantai, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) — According to information from Shandong Port Yantai Port on the 26th, the “Benteng” vessel, loaded with 27,000 cubic meters of mechanical equipment, departed from the port for Africa on the evening of the 25th, marking the official opening of the “Yantai Port – Tanzania Tanga Port” breakbulk cargo route.

Tanga Port is a historical port hub in East Africa, radiating to surrounding countries such as Uganda and Rwanda. After the opening of this route, it will leverage the regional hub advantages of Tanga Port to divert freight pressure and provide more efficient logistics solutions for neighboring countries.
Yantai Port is a breakbulk cargo logistics hub port in northern China. To date, it has opened 29 international breakbulk cargo routes covering multiple regions including Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Europe, capable of transporting over 200 types of cargo, including special equipment, engineering machinery, and wind power equipment.
In the first nine months of this year, Yantai Port’s breakbulk cargo shipment volume reached 11.94 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 41.8%. (End)
