At 21:00 on November 11th, as the vessel “Wan Hefei Huo 6668” exited the Yuxi First Line Lock of the Heyu Waterway, the annual ship lockage throughput of the Yuxi Lock surpassed 100 million tons in 2025. This marks the third consecutive year since 2023 that the Yuxi Lock’s annual throughput has exceeded 100 million tons.
The Yuxi Lock is the busiest lock in Anhui Province, bearing the crucial task of facilitating the transport of bulk cargo such as sand, gravel, coal, and containers between the Hefei Economic Circle and surrounding areas and the Yangtze River.
To ensure the lock’s operation is safe, smooth, and efficient, the Yuxi Lock relies on the Anhui Port and Shipping Joint Lock Operation Dispatch Center. It fully utilizes an intelligent scheduling system to optimize vessel dispatch procedures, reduce waiting times, and employs a 24-hour alternating operation mode between the first and second line locks. This continuously and effectively improves lockage efficiency, ensures the safe and efficient operation of the dual-line locks, and maximizes the lock’s throughput capacity.
Simultaneously, the Yuxi Lock has fully implemented a “one-stop” lock transit service, leveraging the capabilities of the “Wan Hang Tong” informatized lock transit system to facilitate business handling for crew members, truly achieving “information travels more, crew members travel less”. The lock also conducts irregular visits to慰问 crew members, soliciting their opinions and suggestions, striving to address their needs and expectations, and effectively enhancing crew satisfaction.
