According to the official WeChat public account of Fuzhou Port Group, on June 18, Zhang Xianwen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Fuzhou Port Group, led a team to the Fuzhou Port Container Jiangyin Port Area for a work survey, indicating that he has assumed the new roles of Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Fuzhou Port Group. Previously, Gao Yu, the former Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Fuzhou Port Group, was promoted to Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman, and General Manager of Xiamen Port Holding Group. Fuzhou Port Group is affiliated with Fujian Provincial Port Group and is the largest public terminal operator in Fuzhou Port. Its business covers the Minjiang Estuary Port Area, Jiangyin Port Area, Luoyuan Bay Port Area of Fuzhou Port, as well as the Ningde and Xiaocuo Port Areas. Among them, the Jiangyin Port Area has the largest single contiguous container terminal area in Fujian Province, with the capacity to handle ultra-large vessels of 200,000 tons. In 2025, Fuzhou Port completed a cargo throughput of 345 million tons and a container throughput of 3.85 million TEUs.
Recently, in the 2025 Global Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) jointly released by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence, Fuzhou Port stood out from more than 400 participating ports worldwide and topped the list. Evaluation data shows that Fuzhou Port’s berth time utilization rate in this assessment was 79%, ranking among the absolute top globally, meaning that vessels can basically dock directly upon arrival without waiting for berths.
In addition, the “2025 China Port Economy Development Report” released by the Transport Planning and Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport shows that in 2025, the port economic added value of Fuzhou Port, which covers the ports of Fuzhou and Ningde, reached 310.1 billion yuan, ranking 8th nationally. The port economic growth rates of Fuzhou and Ningde are among the highest in the country.
During the survey, Zhang Xianwen pointed out that the Fuzhou Port Jiangyin Port Area, as an important engine for the construction of “Maritime Fujian,” should continuously enhance comprehensive port service capabilities, accelerate the construction of smart ports and green ports, fully leverage the advantages of Fujian Province’s largest single contiguous container port area, and better serve local economic development and the construction of a modern logistics system.
