On May 7, a reporter learned from Ningbo Zhoushan Port Zhoushan Port Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Zhoushan Port Company”) that the company completed a total grain handling volume of 3.11 million tons from January to April this year, a year-on-year increase of 39.1%, reaching a record high for the same period in history.
Since the beginning of this year, Zhoushan Port Company has taken “dual-core enhancement” as its main line, leveraged its locational advantages, and made multi-point efforts to strengthen its core grain business. By expanding cargo sources, improving efficiency, and optimizing services, it has steadily promoted the quality and volume of its grain business.
In terms of cargo source development, Zhoushan Port Company has integrated internal resources, established new business departments, concentrated efforts on marketing, proactively visited key clients, and relied on logistics advantages such as direct river-sea routes and multimodal transport to deepen linkage and cooperation with ports along the Yangtze River. It has steadily absorbed incremental cargo sources from the Sichuan-Chongqing region while actively exploring foreign trade channels for grain and oil, solidifying the foundation for business growth. From January to April this year, the company’s grain transport volume via direct river-sea routes increased by 7.7% year-on-year.
In terms of production organization, Zhoushan Port Company has strengthened overall process coordination and scheduling, dynamically optimized warehouse layout and operational衔接, and implemented production safeguard measures in advance for the rainy and foggy season to ensure “fast entry and fast exit” for grain vessels. It has introduced efficiency improvement plans for bulk cargo terminals, shortened the duration of port joint inspections, improved emergency response and safety control mechanisms for adverse weather, seized time windows, continuously enhanced ship-hour efficiency and operational effectiveness, and fully ensured the safe and efficient operation of grain handling operations. From January to April this year, the average joint inspection time for the company’s grain foreign vessels shortened by 5.3% year-on-year.
In terms of service assurance, Zhoushan Port Company has continuously improved the level of warehousing and logistics service assurance for bulk grain clients, refined the logistics pricing and assessment service system, and fully ensured the smooth handling of grain concentrated at the port. At the same time, the company has strengthened coordination and collaboration with port authorities such as Customs, optimized the service chain in all aspects, improved collaborative efficiency, and continuously enhanced client satisfaction with stable and reliable logistics assurance capabilities.
