On July 22, with the release of the last mooring line, the “COSCO Shipping Volga River,” under repair by Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, slowly departed from the dock and set sail successfully.
Since the vessel entered the yard on June 13, over a period of 40 days, the shipyard and the vessel’s Party branch, using co-construction as a link, deepened the integration of Party building work, providing organizational support for the vessel’s on-time delivery.
The shipyard project team adhered to the single-ship management system of “overall coordination by the general team + responsibility by professional supervisors + tackling difficulties by Party member backbone,” scientifically arranging processes and precisely allocating resources to ensure all projects progressed simultaneously. In the shaft generator modification phase, to meet the strict requirements of limited engine room space and base installation accuracy within ±5 mm, the mechanical and electrical supervisor simulated the lifting path three days in advance, opened process holes in the dock’s outer plate, and used laser positioning technology to repeatedly calibrate the base position, achieving one-time precise placement. In response to the large amount of pipeline modification work in the desulfurization tower and shaft generator modification projects, the project team adopted prefabrication and modular construction modes, effectively reducing on-site welding work by approximately 40% and compressing the construction period by 4 to 5 days.
On July 16, the Party branches of the Repair Management Department and the Business Department of Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, together with the Party branch of the “COSCO Shipping Volga River,” selected backbone Party members, general team members, and technical staff to form a special inspection team. They went deep into key construction areas such as the engine room, chimney, and desulfurization tower room, checking key links such as process standards, equipment installation, and safety prevention item by item, and established a closed-loop management mechanism of “inspection—notification—rectification—review” to ensure construction quality.
On the morning of July 18, relevant Party branches of the shipyard and the vessel’s Party branch carried out a learning and exchange activity on “Inheriting and Carrying Forward the Great Founding Spirit of the Party, Establishing and Practicing a Correct View of Political Achievements.” Focusing on recent work requirements for learning and education, Party member representatives from both sides combined their actual positions to deeply study, understand, and share insights, consolidating the ideological consensus of “achieving real results through hard work, and judging heroes by real results.”
That afternoon, Party member representatives and on-site management personnel from both sides visited the corporate culture exhibition hall of Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry to gain an in-depth understanding of the company’s development achievements in production and operation, safety and environmental protection, and technological innovation. Subsequently, both sides jointly visited the Liuheng “Poetry and Integrity Culture Museum” to enhance their awareness of integrity and improve their political literacy.
The successful completion of this repair and modification project is a vivid practice of integrating Party building into the core work by both the ship and shore Party branches, injecting new momentum into the construction of the characteristic Party building brand “Ship-Shore Joint Progress” of Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry.
