The president of the Ceará Export Processing Zone, Fábio Feijó, is representing the Ceará free trade zone on a mission in Asia. The itinerary for the trip, which began last Monday, the 6th, and continues until Sunday, the 12th, includes visits to local EPZs, participation in a major world congress for the sector, and business rounds with potential investors.
Accompanying a delegation composed of businesspeople, public managers, and federal and state authorities from the country linked to the EPZ ecosystem, Feijó arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, last Monday, the 6th. In the Asian nation, he was able to learn details about the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), elected in 2024 as the best in the world by fDi’s Global Free Zones of the Year, an award that highlights the most prominent free zones for investors worldwide; and the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), which was among the top ten in the Innovation category in the same award and is specialized in services. A sector that, as the manager recalls, should soon be explored by ZPE Ceará, following the recent official authorization from the Federal Government for the operation of services in Brazilian EPZs.
Still on this Wednesday, the 8th, the president of ZPE Ceará will go to Hainan province, China, where he will participate in the 11th edition of the World Free Zones Organization Annual Congress, as a speaker and also as a member of the panel “Redefining Connectivity in a Fragmented World: Future of Trade & Logistics”. The event runs from Friday (10th) to Sunday (12th).
Feijó explains that the main objective of this mission is to conduct major global benchmarking, “in the sense of learning the best practices of EPZs around the world, so that we can incorporate them into our EPZ. Furthermore, we will also participate in a round with investors, seeking to attract new business”.
Also part of the mission to Asia, among other members, are the president of the Brazil China Business Association, Marcus Paulo Silva, and the president of the Brazilian Association of Export Processing Zones (Abrazpe), Helson Braga, in addition to businesspeople linked to the sector.
