Rome – The annual appointment for the transport and logistics sector returns to Rome, the 10th edition Conftrasporto-Confcommercio Forum, on October 22 at the national headquarters of Confcommercio in Rome, Piazza Gioacchino Belli, 2. It will see the participation of Matteo Salvini, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport.

“It will not be a catwalk or a self-celebration – stated Pasquale Russo, president of Conftrasporto and vice president of Confcommercio Imprese per l’Italia – Our 10th Forum wants to put its finger on the sore spot, addressing and trying to provide answers to the most pressing problems for businesses and workers: from the shortage of drivers to the distorted effects of decarbonization, from the fragility of global supply chains to the critical issues of the Alpine crossings.”

Particular attention will be dedicated to the effects of the geopolitical framework on the sector and to how international dynamics influence transport in Italy. A specific focus will also concern the impact of the ETS system (Emission Trading System, the main European instrument for combating climate change) on maritime and intermodal transport, thanks to data from the Freight Insights study produced by MOST (National Center for Sustainable Mobility) and the Fondazione Centro Studi Economia della Logistica e delle Infrastrutture (CSELI).

A precise and merciless report from which it emerges that a regulatory framework without the necessary corrections risks undermining environmental policies and making the development of intermodality “economically inconvenient”.

The 2025 Conftrasporto Forum will also feature roundtables dedicated to:

Infrastructure and Alpine crossings
Analysis of the difficulties in the circulation of goods and people and the slowdowns that hinder the national economy;
Work and training: regulatory evolutions, staff shortages, solutions for businesses to mitigate the effects of the lack of demand.
