China News Service, Fuzhou, September 24 (by Zheng Jiangluo) The 2025 World Maritime Equipment Conference will be held from October 16 to 19 in Fuzhou, Fujian Province.
Lin Ruiliang, Vice Governor of the Fujian Provincial People’s Government and Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 2025 World Maritime Equipment Conference, introduced at a press conference held in Fuzhou on the 24th that the conference will have guests from more than 50 countries and regions in attendance. These include government officials from Belt and Road Initiative partner countries, member cities and organizations of the 21st Century Maritime Cooperation Committee, BRICS country representatives, and representatives from international organizations such as the International Shipping Federation.
With the annual theme “Sailing the Seas of Fortune, Leading with Green Momentum,” the main contents of this conference include an opening ceremony, a review and outlook on Fujian Province’s accelerated construction of a national marine economy development demonstration zone, and three other activities, along with 13 sub-forums. The conference will concurrently host the 2025 3rd China Marine Equipment Expo and a series of related events. It will also feature the inaugural 2025 International Maritime Organization Sustainable Maritime Innovation Symposium, the Marine Industry Integration and Innovation Competition, and other activities.
According to reports, in terms of building a professional platform, the conference further highlights its attributes as a professional international conference in the field of natural sciences. It has, for the first time, established a Guest University and a Guest Research Institute. Invitations have been extended to 19 universities, including Harbin Engineering University, and 41 research institutions, such as the Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to participate and exhibit. Activities for the transfer and transformation of marine scientific and technological achievements will be organized, along with 25 professional forums and seminars in the field of natural sciences.
Simultaneously, the conference will organize industry matchmaking activities such as investment roadshows and major project promotions. It will host the Fujian Marine Economy Industry Cooperation and Innovation Development Conference to facilitate the landing of a number of large and high-quality marine economy projects with high technological content and strong industrial driving force.
Furthermore, the conference will see the participation and exhibition of 27 international organizations, 18 Fortune Global 500 companies, 58 international brand enterprises, and 6 national classification societies, which will further enhance the conference’s international recognition and influence.
Lin Ruiliang stated that taking this conference as an opportunity, efforts will be made to further deepen industrial links and project collaboration in the marine economy field both domestically and internationally, promote the maritime equipment industry towards high-end and cluster development, facilitate the high-quality development of the marine economy, and contribute to building a maritime community with a shared future.
