Huangpu Wenchong delivers the 6th 32,000-ton heavy lift vessel for AAL.

Recently, the sixth vessel in the AAL 32000DWT multipurpose heavy-lift ship series built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for AAL Shipping under the Schoeller Holdings Group—the “AAL DAMMAM”—was named and delivered in Nansha, Guangzhou. Leaders from AAL, CSM, DNV Class, China Shipbuilding Trading Company, and other partners attended the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Han Jianbing, Deputy General Manager of Huangpu Wenchong, and Eike Muentz, General Manager of AAL, delivered speeches. Subsequently, the ship’s godmother bestowed the name and blessings upon the new vessel, marking the imminent addition of another 32000DWT heavy-lift ship to the AAL Shipping fleet.

The successful naming and delivery of the “AAL DAMMAM” not only serve as a strong testament to Huangpu Wenchong’s shipbuilding capabilities but also stand as a solid witness to the collaborative friendship between the two parties. Wishing the “AAL DAMMAM” smooth sailing across the seas in its future voyages, becoming a shining star in the global shipping market. The partnership between Huangpu Wenchong and AAL will continue to write glorious chapters and achieve more industry milestones.

It is reported that AAL’s 32000DWT heavy-lift ships comply with HPSCR, EEDI Phase III, and NOx Tier III standards and have received DNV’s methanol-ready class notation. The newly equipped “AAL ECO-DECK” retractable deck extension system increases the cargo area by approximately 85% compared to existing ships of the same type in the fleet. This means optimizing payload without increasing the vessel’s gross tonnage—transporting the same tonnage of cargo with significantly lower energy consumption and emissions than other ship types, helping offset clients’ voyage costs.

Huangpu Wenchong shares a deep collaborative bond with the Schoeller Holdings Group. Since 2008, Huangpu Wenchong has built over 30 vessels for the group, including 1700TEU, 1900TEU, 2700TEU, and 2800TEU container ships, 32,000-ton multipurpose heavy-lift ships, and offshore wind service vessels. Through this partnership, the company has continuously enriched its product portfolio. Huangpu Wenchong remains committed to meeting shipowners’ expectations and contributing to the development of global shipping with high-quality products.
