China News Service, July 10 – According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) website, the MIIT released the operational performance of the automotive industry for June 2025. From January to June, China’s automobile production and sales reached 15.621 million and 15.653 million units, respectively.
1. June Automobile Sales Increased by 13.8% Year-on-Year
In June, automobile production and sales reached 2.794 million and 2.904 million units, respectively, up 11.4% and 13.8% year-on-year.
From January to June, automobile production and sales totaled 15.621 million and 15.653 million units, respectively, rising 12.5% and 11.4% year-on-year.
(1) June Passenger Vehicle Sales Increased by 14.5% Year-on-Year
In June, passenger vehicle production and sales reached 2.441 million and 2.536 million units, respectively, up 12.1% and 14.5% year-on-year.
From January to June, passenger vehicle production and sales totaled 13.522 million and 13.531 million units, respectively, rising 13.8% and 13% year-on-year.
(2) June Commercial Vehicle Sales Increased by 9.5% Year-on-Year
In June, commercial vehicle production and sales reached 354,000 and 369,000 units, respectively, up 7.1% and 9.5% year-on-year.
From January to June, commercial vehicle production and sales totaled 2.099 million and 2.122 million units, respectively, rising 4.7% and 2.6% year-on-year.
2. June New Energy Vehicle Sales Increased by 26.7% Year-on-Year
In June, new energy vehicle production and sales reached 1.268 million and 1.329 million units, respectively, up 26.4% and 26.7% year-on-year. New energy vehicle sales accounted for 45.8% of total new vehicle sales.
From January to June, new energy vehicle production and sales totaled 6.968 million and 6.937 million units, respectively, rising 41.4% and 40.3% year-on-year. New energy vehicle sales accounted for 44.3% of total new vehicle sales.
3. June Automobile Exports Increased by 22.2% Year-on-Year
In June, automobile exports reached 592,000 units, up 22.2% year-on-year. New energy vehicle exports reached 205,000 units, up 1.4 times year-on-year.
From January to June, automobile exports totaled 3.083 million units, up 10.4% year-on-year. New energy vehicle exports reached 1.06 million units, up 75.2% year-on-year.
