On July 2, Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI) under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) and Shanghai Jinjiang Shipping (Group) Co., Ltd. (Jinjiang Shipping), a subsidiary of Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The signing ceremony was attended by Lü Zhiyong, President of SDARI; Zhou Zhiyong and Xu Yiping, Vice Presidents of SDARI; Shen Wei, Party Secretary and Chairman of Jinjiang Shipping; and Zhao Xiaobing, Deputy General Manager of Jinjiang Shipping, among others.
Over the years, the two parties have engaged in in-depth collaboration in ship design, energy-saving retrofits, and smart system applications, setting a strong example for the green and intelligent development of the industry.
Under the agreement, the two sides will establish regular cooperation mechanisms, including high-level consultations and periodic exchanges, to share industry trends and technological developments. They will also implement technical exchange and training programs to drive technological progress and talent development through supply chain collaboration. The partnership will expand into areas such as ship design, smart system applications, carbon emission assessments, and vessel energy-saving retrofits. Both parties will uphold the new development philosophy, jointly address international maritime environmental regulations, and support the transformation, upgrading, and digitalization of the shipping industry.
Also present at the ceremony were Lin Jie and Gu Yiqing, CSSC discipline leaders, as well as representatives from relevant departments of SDARI and Jinjiang Shipping.
