Grandweld Shipyards announced the signing of a new shipbuilding contract with Bourbon for the development of two 34-meter crew boats. These vessels represent the new generation of long-distance passenger transport in the West African energy sector.
This milestone adds to Grandweld’s long-standing relationship with Bourbon and seeks to underscore the proven track record in the delivery of high-performance, world-class vessels.
Designed by the French naval engineering firm Mauric and built at Grandweld’s state-of-the-art facilities in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2027, after which they will join Bourbon’s Surfer fleet, servicing ExxonMobil in Angola.
“Grandweld is recognized for its timely deliveries and top-tier shipbuilding. We are determined to deliver another great experience to Bourbon with this important shipbuilding project,” stated Jamal S. Abki, General Manager of Grandweld Shipyards.
