On the morning of November 14th, CIMC Raffles, a subsidiary of CIMC, held the naming ceremony for the “NOCC PACIFIC”, a 7,000-carrier LNG dual-fuel PCTC (Pure Car and Truck Carrier), at its Longkou construction base. This vessel is the first PCTC built by CIMC Raffles for the Norwegian shipowner Norwegian Car Carriers (NOCC), injecting new momentum into the NOCC fleet upgrade and the global shipping industry’s green transition.

The “NOCC PACIFIC” has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, a design draft of 8.6 meters, a design speed of 19 knots, and a loading capacity of 7,000 car equivalent units. It is equipped with 2 sets of C-type LNG storage tanks and dual-fuel main and auxiliary engines, enabling zero emissions during port operations. The vessel has received the DNV “Ammonia Ready” notation, preparing it for the future use of lower-carbon fuels.

During the construction process, CIMC Raffles implemented the “deck section shaping prioritized before side shell section joining” mode for the first time, reducing hull plate deformation by over 15%, effectively improving construction accuracy and shortening the construction cycle.

It is worth mentioning that in response to the surge in global new energy vehicle sea transport volume and the ensuing new safety challenges, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has required classification societies to formulate specific safety standards, which are planned to be mandatory from January 2026. Against this backdrop, this vessel prospectively incorporated design compliance for the DNV “F(EV)” (Electric Vehicles) notation, making it the world’s first PCTC to meet this new standard and providing a safety benchmark for the international maritime transport of new energy vehicles.

In recent years, the Longkou construction base has become one of the world’s mainstream PCTC construction bases. CIMC Raffles has successively signed contracts for multiple series of PCTCs with Swedish shipping company Wallenius Lines, Greek shipping company Atlas Maritime, and Monaco-based international shipping company Zodiac Group. The “NOCC PACIFIC” is the 15th PCTC delivered by CIMC Raffles and the 7th PCTC delivered by the Longkou base in 2025, further consolidating CIMC Raffles’ batch delivery capability and leading position in the PCTC field.
