MacGregor has signed a contract to deliver a newly developed lightweight 165-tonne active heave compensated crane to Hong Hua Yard in China for a 90-metre Construction Support Offshore Vessel owned by Atlantic Navigation, the company said in a news release.

Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2027, and the agreement includes an option for one additional crane.

The order will be recorded in MacGregor’s fourth-quarter 2025 intake.

According to the company, the crane is designed as a next-generation offshore lifting solution intended to offer higher performance than traditional 150-tonne systems. “This order demonstrates delivery and customer confidence in our next-generation offshore crane technology,” said Pasi Lehtonen, Executive Vice President, Offshore Solutions, MacGregor. He noted that the crane is engineered to provide higher lifting capacity without increasing weight.

MacGregor stated that the project will benefit from its established presence in China, including local sales, service and production capabilities near Hong Hua Yard. The company said its local and global teams will cooperate throughout installation and commissioning to support efficient delivery.
