Rohde Nielsen has expanded the fleet with the diesel-electric powered trailing suction hopper dredger Hermod R. The vessel has a capacity of 8,000 cubic meters.
Hermod R has already started its first assignment, a major coastal protection project in Portugal, where over 3.3 million m³ of sand will be moved to rebuild eroded beaches and strengthen the local coastlines.
Hermod R was built at Jiangsu Haixin Shipping Heavy Industry Co.Ltd in Nantong in 2020, and until now had sailed as XIN ZI LANG 3 for Jiangsu Haihong Construction Engineering Co. Ltd, which is based in Nantong.
