Intercargo represents some of the most important entities of the global dry bulk sector and promotes safety, quality, operational efficiency and environmental protection.

AMMITEC’s participation highlights the increasingly important role of Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Digital Communications and innovation through Artificial Intelligence in the maritime space.

Through this new collaboration, AMMITEC members will have access to INTERCARGO’s initiatives related to:

• Technical, operational and safety issues

• International working groups and consultations

• Industry analyses, studies and best practices

• Forums for fleet performance, safety and decarbonization

• Dialogue for digital readiness, cyber governance and emerging technologies

The International Association of Dry Cargo Shipowners (Intercargo) represents and promotes dry cargo shipping, bringing together over 400 companies from 37 countries.

The dry bulk sector is the largest in number of ships and deadweight. Bulk carriers constitute 43% of the world fleet (in tonnage) and carry approximately 55% of global transport work.

Intercargo was founded in 1980 in London and since 1993 it has participated with consultative status in the IMO.

AMMITEC is the most important professional community in Greece representing IT, Digital, Cybersecurity and Communications executives in shipping.
