On Tuesday morning, a Coast Guard vessel L.S.-EL.AKT. (C.G.V.) located, during a patrol, a tanker-water carrier (T/W) vessel of Greek flag to be moored alongside a tanker (T) vessel of Greek flag and to be supplying it with water.
During the inspection, it was found that the T/W was overloaded, as the sea level had exceeded the load line limit by 32.5 centimeters, in violation of article 235 par. h of the Public Maritime Law Code “Regarding the Obligations of the Master and Crew”.
By the 2nd Port Department of Keratsini of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus which is conducting the preliminary investigation, the Master of the T/W was arrested.
