The agreement, which, according to information, is valued at 86 million dollars, concerns two newly built MR tankers, with a capacity of 50,000 dwt, which are being built by the Chinese Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry. The two vessels, with hull numbers N1239 and N1241, are expected to be delivered in the summer and autumn of 2027 respectively.
The transaction is not related to Safe Bulkers, the listed company of Mr. Hatzigiannis, which remains purely focused on bulk carriers, with a fleet of 45 vessels, with a total capacity of 4.6 million dwt and an average age of 10.3 years.
