The Port Authority of Almería (APA) continues the transformation of the port of Almería with more energy-efficient buildings, as outlined in its Strategic Sustainability Plan 2024-2030, and in line with the actions for integrating the port with the city, which it has undertaken in the last two years both to the east and to the west to make the port area a more modern, friendly, and attractive place for citizens and visitors, thus also helping to improve the projection of Almería’s image. In this sense, the APA has put out to tender the drafting of the basic and execution project and the preparation of the health and safety study and the technical assistance and construction management for the execution of the works to carry out the energy rehabilitation of the maritime station and its annex buildings.

The objective of the action is to help reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, so, as established in the technical specifications, the project must include improvements that help reduce non-renewable primary energy consumption by at least 30%. Compatible with this functional purpose, the APA also aims to enhance the architectural aesthetics of the buildings through an envelope system that will modernize their facades. The intervention specifically covers four buildings: the maritime station, with a built-up area of 8,244 m2; the multiple services building of 647 m2, and two annex buildings of 481 m2 and 244 m2, respectively.

The deadline for submitting bids in this tender, which has a base budget of 359,975 euros (VAT included) and a period of three months for the preparation of the projects and one year for the site management and technical assistance, ends on December 22. Given the scale and technical complexity of the action, the APA has scheduled a technical visit on next December 4, from 10:30 to 12:30, with the meeting point at the entrance of the maritime station, so that interested companies that wish to do so can see the facilities subject to the tender on site and ask the APA’s Planning department any technical queries they deem appropriate.
