Royal Arctic Line improves results despite lower activity

Royal Arctic Line delivers a group profit before tax of DKK 15 million in 2025 – an increase of DKK 9 million compared to the previous year. The result comes despite a general economic slowdown in Greenland, where lower freight volumes, particularly in the construction and fishing sectors, have put pressure on earnings.

The shipping company has countered the decline by adjusting operations and increasing activities outside the concession. At the same time, the subsidiary Arctic Umiaq Line has turned a deficit into a small profit after adjustments to the sailing schedule, which have strengthened sales to the local population, the shipping company writes in a press release.

The result is described as acceptable, but still at the low end relative to the need for savings for future investments.

For 2026, the group expects a result before tax of DKK 15-25 million. The profit will be used, among other things, for investments in new barges and feeder vessels for Arctic conditions, which are to strengthen supply security in Greenland.
