Alabama Port Authority reported that Terminal Railway Alabama State Docks (TASD) recorded its strongest month to date in May, reaching new highs in total rail movement and breaking consecutive monthly records in coal handling operations.
In total, 20,627 rail cars passed through the Port of Mobile last month, representing 46% above budget projections.
This type of performance reflects the growing demand for Alabama products and the strength of the multimodal connections linking the Port of Mobile with interior markets throughout the region.
“Whatever our customers’ needs may be, we know that our rail partners and the TASD team are ready to deliver,” communicated Alabama Port Authority.
