The works to upgrade the four-track railway yard located at the terminal part of Via Leonardo da Vinci, between the Guardia di Finanza building and the road access to the Galvani gate, were delivered in recent days.
The intervention has a cost of 3.1 million euros and consists of the extension of the railway yard to reach modules of approximately 600 meters.
The objective of the works, with the first phase to be completed by the next June 30, is to improve the efficiency of the railway terminal to handle the movement of trains of at least 550 meters, without splitting them.
The work is financed by the AGRO-LI project (focused on improving and modernizing dedicated port infrastructure for the accessibility of the agri-food supply chain in the port of Livorno) which received contributions from the Pnrr of the Ministry of Agriculture under the Call for the development of agri-food logistics.
