Mr. Ren Kaisheng, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Qidong Offshore Engineering and Shipbuilding Industrial Park and Secretary of the Yinyang Town Committee; Mr. Kenneth Wentworth, Senior Vice President of project owner Canada’s AltaGas; Mr. Kevin Staveley, Vice President of AltaGas; Mr. Sascha Werner, General Manager of technical partner Germany’s AC-INOX; Mr. Long Yefei, CEO of Kutec Insulation Technology Jiangsu Co., Ltd.; and representatives from partners including the Hartmann Group, CSEI ASME, and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) were all present to witness the event. Huazi Energy’s Chairman Mr. Wang Lijiang, Vice Chairman and CEO Mr. Yan Zhengyun, and Deputy General Manager and General Manager of the Equipment Business Division Mr. Zhang Hongbiao, along with other company leaders, attended the event, joining the distinguished guests in witnessing this memorable milestone moment.
Following the successful delivery of Tank No. 1 in October 2025, the completion and delivery of these final two core pieces of equipment mark the successful conclusion of this highly anticipated customized project jointly planned, designed, and constructed by AltaGas, AC-INOX, and Huazi Energy. The successful delivery of the LPG tanks not only verifies the full-chain project execution capabilities of Huazi Energy, AltaGas, and AC-INOX covering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning support, but also signifies that the customized high-end energy equipment solutions jointly provided by the parties have been successfully recognized by the internationally leading energy company AltaGas and Royal Vopak (VOPAK) and are about to be put into operation.
The delivered Tank No. 2 and Tank No. 3 are the final two pieces of equipment for this project. Building on the successful delivery of Tank No. 1 in October 2025, the Huazi Energy and AC-INOX teams maintained close collaboration, efficiently advancing the subsequent construction tasks and ensuring the high-quality and on-schedule delivery of the two tanks. The full completion of the three LPG tanks custom-built for AltaGas’s Ridley Island Energy Export Facility (REEF) laid a solid foundation for the overall success of the entire project.
This project is the world’s first and largest land-based LPG storage tank project. As the equipment is gradually put into operation, its excellent performance is bound to be demonstrated, setting a new industry benchmark for large-scale energy storage equipment and generating clear demand for such large-scale customized energy solutions in the North American and global markets. The successful completion of this project not only met the specific requirements of the owner, AltaGas, but also demonstrated Huazi Energy’s strong capability to undertake and perfectly execute such high-end customized projects, laying a solid foundation for exploring future market opportunities.
From joint R&D and the first-of-its-kind breakthrough to the successful conclusion, the strategic cooperation between Huazi Energy and AC-INOX ran through the entire project, jointly creating a model for transnational technical collaboration. Mr. Wang Lijiang, Chairman of Huazi Energy, stated at the ceremony: “The three 30,000 cubic meter LPG storage tanks constructed in this project have not only set a new industry benchmark for single-tank capacity but have also opened up new solutions for the low-temperature liquefied gas storage and transportation sector with world-leading design and manufacturing processes.” Huazi Energy will continue to cooperate with global partners to contribute more specialized and customized Chinese expertise to the green future of the energy industry.
