Emerald Cruises celebrated in Venice, at the San Basilio landing stage, the christening ceremony of the Emerald Kaia, the third luxury ship for 128 guests to join its fleet.

Guests on the first eight-day itinerary renamed Adriatic Discovery were able to witness the event from the decks on board the ship.

“Emerald Kaia is an addition we are proud of to our yacht fleet and a worthy flagship to celebrate our 40 years of innovation,” stated Glen Moroney, President and Founder of Scenic Group.“Designed and built by our team of experts at Mkm Yachts, this superyacht offers an experience that combines relaxed luxury, innovative design, and privileged access to the world’s most extraordinary coastlines. It is particularly significant to see it entrusted to two of our longest-serving team members as godfathers.” The godfather of the christening was Jason Flesher, Director of Expedition Operations at Scenic Group.

Also taking part in the ceremony were the company’s General Manager of Maritime Operations, James Griffiths, and the President of the Port System Authority of the Northern Adriatic Sea, Matteo Gasparato, together with other port authority executives.

After crossing the Red Sea and the Suez Canal, the ship began its Mediterranean season from Limassol, Cyprus, and in autumn it will cross the Red Sea and the Suez Canal again to reach the Seychelles.

Subsequently, from December 2026 to March 2027, it will sail in the waters of the Indian Ocean and East Africa.
