ABB and Wallenius Marine have formally established a Stockholm-based joint venture to expand their OVERSEA collaboration providing vessel performance management services.
OVERSEA, launched in September 2022, combines digital platforms with a fleet-support-centre-as-a-service model to help ship owners and operators improve efficiency and sustainability.
The platform integrates ABB’s Genix Industrial IoT and AI Suite with Wallenius Marine’s fleet management expertise to provide insights for performance optimisation.
The system collects and analyses data from vessels, while shore-based experts at the OVERSEA Fleet Support Centre in Stockholm provide recommendations to reduce fuel use and emissions, as well as improve safety and reliability.
