On July 24, Abu Dhabi Ports Group announced that its first international office in China has officially commenced operations, marking a significant milestone in the group’s global expansion strategy.
The new office, located in China’s capital Beijing, will lead and coordinate the group’s commercial and investment activities in China and across the broader Asian region.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the establishment of the Beijing office will enable closer engagement with strategic partners, customers, and investors in China. The office will also play a pivotal role in advancing the group’s business development within China and along the Belt and Road network, including maritime routes connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe, as well as multimodal land corridors spanning China, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
Additionally, the group’s logistics subsidiary, Noatum Logistics, will operate its new commercial branch in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region through this office. This region represents a core domestic market with a population exceeding 110 million.
Established in 2006, Abu Dhabi Ports Group has grown into one of the largest port operators in the Middle East. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, stated: “As the world’s largest exporter and a driving force in supply chain development, China is actively reshaping international trade. Abu Dhabi Ports Group shares a common vision with China in strengthening cross-border integration. Through our newly established Beijing office, we will collaborate closely with Chinese partners to support the expansion of key trade corridors and deliver cutting-edge shipping, infrastructure, and logistics solutions.” As part of its growth strategy in China, the group plans to expand Noatum Logistics’ local service capabilities in the country to provide comprehensive end-to-end integrated logistics solutions, catering to China’s rapidly growing domestic market demand.
