In 2025, the company is expected to transport a total of 140,000 passengers, of which 125,000 in Greece and 15,000 in the Arabian Gulf.
Athens – Celestyal, the Greek cruise company, is considering the acquisition of a new ship with the aim of strengthening its Adriatic routes and expanding its presence in new markets, primarily to the west.
Celestyal, whose fleet currently includes the ships Celestyal Discovery and Celestyal Journey, operates itineraries in Greece, the Gulf countries, and the Adriatic. As the company’s executives emphasized, “the cruise industry offers opportunities that Celestyal intends to exploit by gradually expanding its fleet.”
For 2025, Celestyal is expected to transport a total of 140,000 passengers, of which 125,000 in Greece and 15,000 in the Arabian Gulf, compared to 120,000 passengers in 2024. Particular importance is given to the international profile of the passengers, with 60% coming from abroad, including significant representation from North America and Latin America, Europe, and Asia, as stated by the company’s CEO Chris Theophilides during the presentation of the refurbished Celestyal Discovery. The renovation included the addition of 47 new cabins, the installation of purifiers, and the modernization of the decks.
The Celestyal Discovery is also the first ship in Greece to be refueled with a marine biofuel blend, confirming the company’s commitment to sustainability and compliance with the new environmental requirements ETS, FuelEU, and IMO.
