The company announced that, through its subsidiary, it signed an agreement for the acquisition of an ecological vessel built in 2023 from an unrelated third party, for a consideration of 37.5 million dollars.
The delivery of the vessel is expected to take place by the end of the current quarter, subject to the fulfillment of the customary conditions for the completion of the transaction.
The financing of the acquisition will be covered by the company’s available cash funds.
Upon completion of the agreement, Castor Maritime’s fleet will consist of 10 vessels with a total carrying capacity of approximately 700,000 dwt.
The company operates internationally in the sectors of shipping, asset management, and energy infrastructure, while also being a major shareholder of MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Capital AG, which is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
