AD Ports Group, CMA Terminals Khalifa Port and CMA CGM Group have signed an agreement to build inland intermodal logistics links across the UAE and the wider Gulf, according to AD Ports Group.
The memorandum of understanding is designed to turn Khalifa Port into a deeper inland gateway by tying cargo flows to AD Ports Group’s network of rail-linked inland container depots, dry ports and cargo facilities.
The partners plan to connect gateway ports with inland consumer, industrial and regional markets, including routes across the Northern Emirates and rail-linked corridors toward Oman and Saudi Arabia.
AD Ports Group said the pact would support inbound cargo flows for industrial and manufacturing sectors and give exporters more routing options through inland and gateway corridors.
CMA Terminals Khalifa Port was inaugurated in December 2024. The terminal is a joint venture owned 70% by CMA CGM Group and 30% by AD Ports Group, and is one of three container terminals at Khalifa Port operated by major international shipping lines.
AD Ports Group is an Abu Dhabi-based trade, transport and logistics group whose activities cover port terminals, economic zones, maritime services, logistics assets and digital trade infrastructure.
CMA CGM Group is a France-headquartered shipping and logistics company active in container shipping, terminal operations, air cargo, contract logistics and supply-chain services.
