ADP A/S and Fredericia Shipping have officially inaugurated the new container terminal at Fredericia Port, the company said in a statement.
The project marks a strategic step to strengthen the port’s role as an efficient and future-oriented logistics hub.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by ADP’s Chairman Christian Herskind, CEO Rune D. Rasmussen, Fredericia Shipping CEO Klaus Andersen, Member of the European Parliament Niels Flemming Hansen (KF), and Fredericia Mayor Christian Bro.
Since summer 2023, Fredericia Port has undergone major redevelopment. The new container terminal more than doubles capacity and includes a 485-meter quay and 70,000 square meters of new container area. It is also prepared for onshore power supply in 2027, two years ahead of EU requirements.
ADP CEO Rune D. Rasmussen described the terminal as “a milestone” in the company’s long-term development. “We have more than doubled our capacity and created a terminal that meets modern requirements for efficiency and sustainability,” he said, adding that container activity at Fredericia Port has already accelerated in close cooperation with Fredericia Shipping.
Fredericia Shipping CEO Klaus Andersen emphasized the advantages for customers and the port’s central location. “With the expansion, we maintain our position as one of Denmark’s most attractive container ports,” he said, noting its location at the intersection of Denmark’s main highways and railway. He added that the company expects to offer improved service to shipping lines, freight forwarders, and hauliers, supported by its terminal in Taulov.
Fredericia Port’s expansion received €6,754,520 in CEF funding for the terminal development and feasibility studies for the railway area north of the port.
