Tropical Storm Alex has crossed over Florida and is currently working her way northeast in the Atlantic.
While there is some weakening of the storm, gale force winds expanding over 180NM will gradually contract towards the centre.
Rough seas continue to stretch as the storm drives into the north-central Atlantic.
The ports of Tampa and Port Everglades remain open.
