APM Terminals Callao, operator of the Muelle Norte of the Port of Callao, has been unloading nearly 6,000 vehicles (5,733 units) brought to Peru on a single large-scale vessel from Asia. This operation is a milestone for the country’s port activity, being the first time such a quantity of vehicle units has been received in a single call.
“This operation confirms that we are prepared to handle high-volume rolling cargo with high standards of efficiency, safety and coordination,” said Stephanie Bravo De Rueda, general cargo commercial manager of APM Terminals Callao.
As this is sensitive cargo, each unit is handled under strict protocols, with specialized personnel, constant monitoring and international standards aimed at preserving the integrity of the units that arrived in Peru aboard the vessel Asian Captain of Eukor, as recently reported by PortalPortuario.
This milestone occurs in a context of greater dynamism in the mobilization of rolling cargo between Asia and the Port of Callao, the main entry point for vehicles and machinery for the Peruvian market. Vehicle movement at the Muelle Norte has grown around 28% between 2025 and 2026, reflecting growing demand and the confidence of customers and shipping lines.
“Operations like this not only raise the operational standard of Callao, but also reinforce its regional competitiveness. The Muelle Norte has been preparing for several years to handle this type of volume, and today we are demonstrating that we can do so with efficiency, safety and long-term vision,” added Bravo De Rueda.
