APM Terminals Pipavav starts block train service linking Pipavav Port and Jaipur ICD

APM Terminals Pipavav has launched a dedicated block train carrying 90 twenty-foot general-purpose containers from Pipavav Port to the Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Kanakpura, Jaipur, the company said in a statement.

The cargo was shipped from Malaysia aboard the vessel ONE MARVEL (V-0079W) and transported in a single train movement as part of a logistics project for a client in the solar energy sector.

The operation was executed in coordination with Ocean Network Express (India) Pvt. Ltd, Fast Forward Logistics India Pvt. Ltd, Seven Seas Lines SDN BHD, and CONCOR.

APM Terminals Pipavav is a public-private partnership port located in Gujarat, India, operating as part of the APM Terminals global network under A.P. Moller–Maersk. The port handles container, dry bulk, liquid bulk, and /roll-off cargo, with annual handling capacities of 1.35 million TEUs for containers, 4 million metric tons of dry bulk, 2 million metric tons of liquid bulk, and 250,000 passenger cars. It is the first Indian port connected to the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC).

Ocean Network Express (India) Pvt. Ltd. is the Indian subsidiary of Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based joint venture between Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha. The company provides container shipping and logistics services across international routes.
